The Associate Program
The C.P.S. Associates seek to share in the charism and mission of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood. This congregation was founded by the Trappist Abbot Francis Pfanner and given the Latin name Congregatio Pretiosi Sanguinis, hence the initials C.P.S.
Like the sisters, the associates desire to follow in the footsteps of the Founder, who wanted laypersons involved in the missionary work of the Church.
The Associate Program provides an opportunity to deepen one’s spiritual life through communal prayer, faith sharing, growth experiences, faith development and possibly shared ministry.
A bond forms between the associates and sisters through the mutual sharing our charism and mission statements, which leads us all to a common Precious Blood Spirituality.
Become an Associate
We welcome to our Associate Program any Catholic adult (18yrs.+) who has a viable faith commitment, a desire to live the Paschal Mystery- the living, dying and rising a desire of Jesus in one’ own faith journey, a desire to associate with the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood and the willingness and ability to participate in our formation process.
“Prayer was our only support and refuge within all these difficulties. Time and again I found new courage and new strength in prayer.”
– Mother Paula Emunds, C.P.S.

When the heart is calm, it is easy to pray. As the smooth surface of the sea enables one to look down to the bottom and count every little stone: likewise, the one who remains still is able to look into the depths of his own heart and see God Himself so clearly that it will be easy to converse with Him
– Abbot Francis Pfanner
