Canada
In 1951, the first Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood arrived in Toronto, Ontario at the invitation of the late Cardinal James McGuigan. In 1954, the Sisters opened St. Bernard’s Convalescent Hospital. Due to the Ontario Government’s restructuring in 1999, the Sisters changed ministries and re-opened as St. Bernard’s Residence for Seniors in 2001. In March 1998 Canada and USA amalgamated officially to form the North American Province (NAP). At the present time, the Sisters continue to serve in various ministries in Toronto, Richmond Hill, London, Woodstock and Wikwemikong. It is also the place of our International Novitiate.

CPS in the USA
The first CPS Sisters arrived in the United States from Europe in 1925, at the invitation of the Vincentian priests. These pioneer Sisters did domestic work for the Vincentians at St. Joseph Preparatory School, Princeton, New Jersey and at St Vincent’s Seminary, Germantown, Pennsylvania. At present, the Sisters serve in various ministries in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Kentucky. In March 1998 Canada and USA amalgamated officially to form the North American Province (NAP).

Mother Paula Convent was opened on February 4, 2016, with the hope that the sisters living at this convent will support our senior sisters who are placed at Holy Family Manor for long-term health care. The sisters living at Mother Paula are involved in Pastoral Care at Holy Family Senior Living, at St. Luke’s University Health Network, and Retired, prayer ministry, resident in Holy Family Senior Living.
Mother Paula Convent has served as a place of hospitality and presence as many of the sisters stop in while visiting the seniors sisters at Holy Family Senior Living and also come in to spend their vacation time.
